Open Practice Ascent Update 2

We are pleased to release the Open Practice ASCENT – April 2007 Update.

This release provides important Data Handling and Reporting Enhancements associated with the new Investment / Controlled Monies functionality. Other developments include VIC & NSW Calculator updates and new/improved Integration options.

In accordance with our recent Update Releases, this Update provides a full cumulative release of ALL ASCENT (Version 5.1) Updates – this means that any firm who is using ASCENT or 5.1 (irrespective of what Service Pack) can ensure full up-to-date functionality by applying 1 simple update.

Please ensure that you download and read ALL prior Client Advisories and Implementation Guides if your firm has fallen behind in applying recent Updates.

Please refer to the detailed Ascent Update - April 2007 Client Advisory for a comprehensive list of all Updates in this release including:

  • Investment / Controlled Monies Functionality:
    • Handling of prior “orphan” investment transactions ie. those without an associated investment account header (linked by Account Number and BSB number combination).
    • More “How Paid’ options activated
    • Additional RTF Codes
    • Modifications to Investment / Controlled Monies Ledger Trial Balance + Ledger Movement Report
  • Open Practice Searching (Integration) - Provides greater options regarding transaction data that is included on debtor invoices.
  • Trust Receipts - Corrected display of Cash Receipt breakdown for previously posted Cash Receipts.
  • Trust Payments - Updated to cater to GST recalculations in certain transaction scenarios + corrected the display of the Cash Payment breakdown for previously posted Cash Payments.
  • Person Codes - Person codes can no longer be saved with certain imbedded characters. The Person Code Change Utility has been updated to cater to these changes. A General Utility has also been added to check for invalid characters in the PERSON table.
